How it all started...
As the church that introduced the Spirit-Filled experience to the Quad-Cities, our legacy and journey originates in the summer of 1929. A man by the name of Dr. A.W. Kortkamp set up a tent revival meeting near the banks of the Mississippi river located in Moline, Illinois. A congregation developed from this meeting and over the next 20 years grew to almost 2,000 congregants.
A new spark...
In 2015, after transitioning from the role of District Supervisors for the Southeast District within the Foursquare denomination, Pastor Scott and Michelle Reece became the senior pastors of the Moline Church. Faced with challenges of congregational decline as well as needed building renovations, they began the task of re-invigoration the Moline congregation. Over the next few years we have seen hundreds of members return to their home church.
Where we are headed...
In recent years, we have seen many support staff and pastors become a part of River City Church. Each week a vibrant congregation gathers to worship the Lord and pursue a passionate outreach for the Quad- City region and the World. Our church with a powerful message of faith, hope, and love has experienced incredible growth allowing us to launch 3 additional campuses in the Quad- City area.
